Tangent Classic BT Bluetooth SpeakersWeighing in at a substantial 5kg, the Classic BT requires a considerable spot away from hard surfaces that may help overcook the bass output signal and walls. With a 10m wireless Bluetooth range the Danish-designed loudspeaker streams at great quality aptX from tablets or smartphones not equipped with aptX from standard quality or a compatible device.
The oblong shape with walnut or ash veneer is an imaginative form factor, but Tangent keeps matters simple from a features point of view with two 50W channels (promised), each comprised of one 3cm and one 12cm driver, plus a 5cm bass reflex port each round the back, where there is also a 3.5mm aux line-in and USB for charging your portable devices.
Given the dimension of the enclosures, bass is the dominant characteristic. The bass guitar in the beginning of Gabriel's Don't Give Up has plenty of meat, and is mesmerising. Vocals in the middle and high range are not strained or brilliant, but don't have as much presence as some other models. Martin Garrix's Creatures demonstrates the sonic imaging is broad and the Classic BT is not any shrinking violet concerning power. |
